Better Sight

Lenskart and Smile Foundation, a national level development organisation joined hands for Lenskart’s #BetterSight initiative. During this season of giving, Lenskart conducted a series of eye check-ups for underprivileged women and children. The association undertook an extensive free eye care camp under Smile Foundation’s Swabhiman – a women empowerment initiative.

The camps were organised on December 21 and 22, 2017 in Delhi and Gurgaon wherein they witnessed the participation of 150+ socially disadvantaged women and children. The initiative is targeted to provide free screening to a large number of women and children over the next few months and years.

ONE for ONE

With a dream of giving India a clear vision, Lenskart is bringing awareness towards a frightening reality. With 1/3th of India’s population requiring vision correction, Lenskart started its journey towards donating eyeglasses to the ones in need in 2012. For every pair of glasses sold on the website, there’s someone somewhere benefitting with a better vision.

Lenskart has also collaborated with the Swades Foundation, which works for the empowerment of rural India, to give away spectacles to people in Raigad, Maharashtra. Reaching an exciting milestone with your help, Lenskart have distributed one million pairs of glasses. Starting from the Capital, New Delhi, Lenskart is now on a mission to give the whole country a vision.

EYE for EYE

On April 15, 2014, Supreme Court of India made the country the first nation in the world to recognise transgender people as the Third Gender. A landmark judgement indeed. Exactly a year later on April 15, 2015, the Third Gender paid its respect to Supreme Court of India by pledging their eyes.

Lenskart’s ‘Eye for An Eye’ campaign gave them a voice and platform. 16,000 pledges were handed over to Eye Bank Association of India with a promise of 2 lakh more. Lenskart hopes the ‘Eye for An Eye ‘initiative will instigate all of us to pledge our eyes.
